How to join

Thank you for your interest in joining USAPA. Please review the information on this page to see which type of membership is right for your organization, and then fill in the membership application form to start the application process.

Who is USAPA Membership For?

USAPA membership is open to individual veterinary surgeons, , veterinary practices, veterinary associations, veterinary pharmaceutical companies, Animal health related companies and Animal welfare organisations. Please click on the search Bar below to view current USAPA members.

How to Join the USAPA Community

Below is the application procedure for all New members (applicants):

  • Application of membership shall be made on a prescribed form to be obtained from the Executive Secretary of the Association or filling the Online Application form to be reviewed by the executive committee
  • The executive secretary upon receiving the application shall notify members of the executive committee within one month of the application
  • The application shall be reviewed by the executive committee who shall have the power to accept or reject it
  • The executive secretary shall inform the applicant of the fate of his application and advise the applicant accordingly
  • If the executive committee rejects the application, the applicant may appeal to the annual general meeting where the application acceptance will be decided by ballot.
  • The application shall be accepted if the applicant receives 2/3 of the votes cast. If the application fails to secure the required votes, then it will be rejected and not be reconsidered until six months have expired from the date of rejection.

USAPA will process the above application form and attachments. Upon approval, a letter of acceptance will be sent to the applicant with the detail of payment.

Upon receiving the letter of acceptance, the applicant must make payment within the advised time frame from the date of letter of acceptance.

The applicant must inform USAPA by emailing proof of payment to the executive secretary

A Membership number will be given once payment had been acknowledged.

What are the Categories of Members?

  • Individual membership: This is open to Individual veterinary Surgeons.
  • Corporate membership: Corporate membership is offered to companies, organisations or bodies dealing with aspects of veterinary importance. 
  • Honorary membership: Honorary membership is offered to members of the Association, or to non- veterinarians whom the Association deems to have rendered outstanding service to the veterinary profession in Uganda.
  • Life membership: For practicing veterinarians who choose to pay a certain prescribed fee for full membership
  • Student / Associate membership: This is for students undertaking studies leading to a degree in veterinary medicine ass recognised by the Uganda veterinary board.
